Flyers Season Tickets Raffle

For the 2020-2021 season, we have made a change to the Flyers Season Ticket mandatory fundraiser. Over the years, we have noticed that most families turn in their tickets with their own name or do not turn them in at all and the number of additional tickets sold has declined with each year. This year, to give everyone in the organization a chance without having to remember to turn in their tickets, each player will have their name entered into the raffle automatically once rostered on a team. The mandatory fundraiser fee is $100 per player and if interested, additional raffle tickets can be purchased for $100 each.

To increase your chances, your player can get 2 additional tickets by registering for player evaluations/tryouts through 3/1/2020 or 1 additional ticket by registering for player evaluations/tryouts through 3/8/2020.

To register for player evaluations/tryouts, please visit www.delawareduckshockey.com, select programs, choose the appropriate level and the register button is on the bottom right.

We are looking forward to a fun and exciting 2020-2021 season and we will see you at evals/tryouts!

Official Highlights the Ducks Bantam A American Team for Fantastic Sportsmanship

The below letter from an Official is posted on the DVHL homepage about one of our Duck Teams (U14A American) that played the Cap City Vipers on 1/26/20.

Our player received a minor concussion and will be back playing the game he loves in a few weeks!

DVHL Home page

The spirit of USA Hockey is alive and well. Sportsmanship does live and it was exhibited by two teams that I just officiated.

I had the pleasure of officiating a Bantam A game this past Sunday (26 Jan 2020) at Twin Ponds East between Vipers Hockey and the Delaware Ducks. Not only was it a fantastic game but the sportsmanship displayed by the players of both teams towards the other players as well as toward the officials deserves comment. This clearly emanated from the coaching staff as it was obvious in the way they handled their benches and team during the game. This was highlighted when a Ducks player was checked and fell awkwarding into the boards, hitting his head and receiving a concussion. As the head coaches FROM BOTH TEAMS, attended to the player, it was obvious that their sole and primary purpose was not on the game, not on the hit, nor on what the penalty should be called, but was instead focused on the player's safety. Both head coaches helped the player off the ice and to his locker room before returning to their benches.

When so many coaches at the youth level are focused on winning, I wanted to pass along a kind word on two coaches whose focus has not been lost. It remains on sportsmanship, and teaching these young players life skills on had to conduct oneself during the spirit of competition. The players in turn displayed this same demeanor towards their coaches, the officials and their opponents.

Please feel free to pass along a kind word of gratitude to the DVHL and /or the Delaware Ducks and Capital City Vipers organizations.

Player's Edge Summer Camp, 6/29-7/2/20

Hi Everyone,

Hope the season is going well! We will be back for our 31st year of Summer Hockey Camps. We're at Patriot for a 4 Day Camp, June 29-July 2.

If you've never been to our Camps, we have all the parts of the game in the week of work. Each day is 3 hours on ice (2-90 min sessions), off ice training and video each day of the camp. Times are 8:30 am drop off and 2:30 pick up.

Parents can always drop off early as we are at the rink by 7:15 am each day. Camp is open for all levels, ages and boys/girls!

We work power skating every day, individual skill work and team play as well. We have puck protection, battle drills, scrimmage and more! Most camps out there are drill after drill without much teaching. Players Edge are "Skills Camps" where we really work the technique that helps them improve their skills for the game.

All camps are on our site www.PEhockey.com

We are updating our new website right now but our original is up and taking apps now. Most of our camps sell out either 1 group or 2 in each city. We always make it fun, challenging and a great week of hockey.

All it takes is $100 deposit to sign up, balance due just before camp. All players and goalies get great camp jersey, t-shirt, and report card. If you can spread the word to your teammates, that would be awesome!

Let me know if you have any questions at all.
